GETTING THE MOST FROM CLUBHOUSE

Updated: Nov 17, 2021

Have you heard of the new Clubhouse social media app?

You've probably heard about the application. In most cases, I haven't used it yet.

Clubhouse, as the name implies, is an application aimed at becoming part of a (currently) exclusive club.

Even if you don't use the application, you need to know everything and see if you can receive the invitation. The clubhouse has great potential for marketers who want to get the most out of their name and product dissemination. Here's what you need to know about Clubhouse in case you decide to use it right away:

WHAT IS A CLUBHOUSE?

Think of Houseparty as meeting your favorite podcast. The clubhouse is an audio chat-based social media app. This application is exclusive because you can only invite. It's not enough to just download from the app store and create an account.

Like podcasts, you can hear interesting people talking about interesting things (Tiffany Haddish, Jared Leto, and even Elon Musk are some of the most influential users of the app). You do it in another "room". Joining a room is like a conference call. Most people are listening and the person organizing the conversation is speaking.

However, unlike podcasts, you need to be in the room when the conversation takes place to hear the conversation. When the conversation is over, it won't be saved or loaded anywhere, like a conversation at a very good supper.

The conversation can be on any topic. Anyone can accommodate them. To get started, the application suggests a room based on the interests you initially communicated. The most important way to navigate a clubhouse is to follow others. It's important to create a quality list because the application recommends rooms based on who you follow.

INVITE ONLY? WHERE CAN I GET AN INVITE?

People like exclusive things, which probably contributed to the rapid success of the clubhouse.

The clubhouse has grown from 600,000 to over 10 million active users, all from within the application, allowing only two friends to be invited to the platform.

So the best way at the moment is to access the application, be on the good side of someone who is already participating in the application, and write down the invitation. Unfortunately, for Android users, this application is currently only available to iPhone users.

If you're unlucky, you can sign up for an account in the app. Once you've set up a basic profile, provided contact information, and selected some topics of interest, you'll see a screen showing that you've joined the waiting list.

HOW DO I USE THE CLUBHOUSE?

As mentioned earlier, Clubhouse proposes rooms based on the interests you initially convey. Options include cryptocurrencies, fashion, geopolitics, spirituality, and even Burning Man.

After that, the main way to navigate the clubhouse is to follow others and find someone who is talking about what you are interested in. First, here's a list of the most influential people in your application:

After following a few people in your application, follow these steps to get involved.

Join the club

Like a Facebook group or part of a page, a club group is a user who is interested in the same particular topic and is a great way to build a network.

When you join a club, you will see notifications for the room that houses the club. Clubs are also a great way to find and contact clubhouse members with similar interests.

To find a club, scroll through the Browse tab or tap the search bar to select a club and search for your favorite topic. From there, click on the club and click Follow. If you follow this, you will be notified when the administrator starts the room.

Please leave in the room

Looking at rooms related to your industry is a great way to develop your knowledge and get inspiration for your discussion topic.

Once you find the room you want to join, just tap it to start listening.

When you enter the room quietly, you will see the room speakers and moderators at the top of the screen (this is called the "stage").

Scroll down the stage to see how participants follow speakers under the heading "Speakers Follow" and a list of common participants under "Others in the Room". All participants who are not on stage are muffled and cannot speak unless they are taken to the stage.

Request to speak

Do you have anything to say? A great way to increase awareness and increase followers is to have a conversation.

If you want to speak, click the hand icon at the bottom right to add it to the list of speaker requests. This is called "raising your hand".

Raise your hand to notify the moderator and activate or ignore it. Once you get used to the Clubhouse, notice how the moderator manages the conversation in the room while the audience is allowed to speak. Once your application is accepted, you will be taken to the speaker stage. As with personal conversations, stay on target, be polite, and don't tap the microphone. This will allow you to appreciate your contribution and deepen your recognition as a valuable contributor.

Hundreds of people can request to speak in the room you are in, so if your request is unacceptable, do not accept it personally.
